Power on Client PCs remotely with EveryCafe
EveryCafe Manager can remotely power on Client computers. For a completely powered-off computer to receive the command, its Ethernet adapter and BIOS must be configured for Wake-on-LAN.
If a computer can be powered on after a normal shutdown but no longer responds after mains power has been switched off and restored, the BIOS power settings are the most likely cause.
BIOS settings to check
Check the following settings in the motherboard BIOS:
- Restore AC Power Loss: Power On
- ErP: Disabled
- Power On By PCI-E: Enabled
- WOL / Wake On LAN: Enabled
The setting names can vary slightly by motherboard brand and model. Wake-on-LAN support must also be enabled for the computer’s Ethernet adapter.
When these settings are configured correctly, the computers can remain ready for remote power-on after electricity is interrupted and restored, allowing them to detect the power-on commands sent by EveryCafe.
If you need help configuring these settings, contact the technical service that installed the computers or an EveryCafe dealer.
